5 ways to find inner peace

Declutter your environment: Keeping a clean environment and organizing is a huge step to finding balance and is symbolic for a fresh start. Out with the old in with the new beginnings!

Meditate daily: Meditation is a mental exercise that heightens consciousness and awareness. A powerful way to empty your mind and Hit the reset button each day. Start off with a fresh and clear mind with just a 10-15 minute meditation. Practice using mantras while meditating to encourage positivity and appreciation.

Create a journal: There’s a reason why over 1 billion people all over the world keep journals; Writing is a great way to boost creativity and kickstart your memory. Other benefits include long-term improvements in mood, stress levels and depressive symptoms. Studies also suggest that writing about emotions and stress can boost immune functioning in patients with such illnesses as HIV/AIDS, asthma and arthritis. Log your goals, tasks, thoughts and feelings. Journal your problems, frustrations and the solutions you find for them. This is a great way to practice reflection. Write down 3 things you are thankful for each day, your dreams, a prayer or quote. Write everyday whether you have 3 sentences or 3 pages. A great story is always measured in meaning rather than length.

Take it easy: Get some very much needed  rest today and keep your day light. Put aside some time each week for self care. This time is for decompression. Take a break and unplug for the day.

  • Focus on reflection - Appreciate the little things life has to offer. Act as a “fly” on the wall today and take in the beauty that surrounds you daily. Each day is a blessing, even if it comes disguised as a lesson. Celebrate every victory big or small! Remember your purpose and that mistakes do not equate to failure.

  • Self care - My favorite day of the week is self care Sunday! I use the entire day to relax and pamper myself. I dedicate my day to nourishing my hair, skin and nails. And occasionally indulge in a massage. Go shopping and treat yourself to something nice. Even if it’s just one item; Reward yourself for all that hard work you’ve done!

Get Active: Think about where you want to be and create a plan on how you’re going to get there. Manifestation is more than just a mental exercise. If we want to manifest our inner peace we have to take action.

  • Pick up a hobby that allows you to express yourself and grow. Whether it’s fishing, yoga, painting, hiking or playing an instrument. Find something that connects with you and let your creativity flourish!

• Take a trip! - My absolute favorite thing to do to find my inner peace is taking a much needed vacation. I love exploring Earth’s natural wonders. There’s nothing like feeling the sand beneath your toes or just enjoying nice weather in general. Some times just a change of scenery is all we need. A place where we can detach from negativity.. Try something new. Do excursions if you can. Dance! Get outdoors and experience life!
